Kili Tingatinga Art is a family run business located in Melbourne. We offer unique, original, handmade African paintings.
Our company helps provide an opportunity for artists to make an income for themselves. We purchase every one of a kind piece from highly-skilled and trained Tanzanian artist; with every purchase we help improve their lives, and help create sustainability within their region.

Tingatinga is a painting style that developed in the second half of the 20th century in the Oyster Bay area in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and later spread to most of East Africa. Tingatinga paintings are traditionally made, using several layers of bicycle paint, which makes for brilliantly vivid colours.
Both my children have had paintings in their rooms since birth. The vibrant colours and animals fascinate the little ones. These paintings have been the source of much fun in our family, made up bed time stories and creating our own Tingatinga tales.
These paintings are an ideal gift for newborns, expecting mums or for your own children’s rooms. It is a unique and special gift that will keep on giving to the entire family.
